OOIDA is always accepting applications for new memberships. If you are interested in joining, it is a $45 membership fee, with an additional $10 cost per additional driver. Being a member of the OOIDA helps the association continue to represent the nation's small business truckers and allows them to better prepare for court actions and legislative issues. The OOIDA is the international trade association that represent the interests of owner-oprator's, professional truck drivers, and small fleets. They work to serve these driver's in an effort to ensure the equal and fair treatment of truck driver's across the country. Additionally, safety is at the forefront of their mission alongside responsibility.
Founded in 1973, the Association now has over 150,000 members in 50-states, as well as Canada. They have remained heavily involved in all processes affecting truck driver's since that time. From highway safety and transportation policy, to every other significant rulemaking process affecting professional truck driver's, OOIDA is there to testify and be heard. They are now involved on not only local and state levels, but international as well.
