“Our more than 300,000 dedicated team members around the world, combined with our continued investment in our powerful and flexible global networks, position FedEx to once again deliver outstanding customer service this holiday season,” FedEx CEO Frederick Smith said in a statement.
The company said it is adding more than 50,000 seasonal positions, including package handlers, helpers and drivers.
Last holiday season, weather delays and higher-than-expected volume caused some parcel carriers to work in the days after Christmas to deliver packages that missed the promised Dec. 24 delivery.
